President: Jim Garner began the meeting at 7:40 pm. The meeting was held at the Montgomery County Executive Building Cafeteria and members signing in were: A, B, CS, CLM, D, DA, DT, FR, GER, GP, GM, LM, MW, MCF, MCT, MS, NH, NO, OG, PA, PLT, PL, PGL, PW, QV, QO, RE, RH, RC, RS, RV, TH, TN, TW, TF, UC, WWD, WTL, WL, WW, WCF. Jim covered the following items for discussion at the MCSL Reps meeting:
· The Board recommend to the MCSL Reps that we adapt a 2008 season calendar that would consider Memorial Day being 26 May, schools out by 12 June, and the first A Meet on 14 June. This calendar would establish a Relay window of 22 June to 6 July, Coach’s Long Course on 8 July, Divisionals on 19 July, and All-Stars on 26 & 27 July. The Reps approved the 2008 Calendar by a wide majority in a show of hands.
· The Montgomery Square Rep addressed the membership to thank teams that supported their practices and home meets while their pool is undergoing renovations not yet completed.
· Jim reminded the Reps that Iona Brown Award nominations are due and explained the purpose of the award and the process by which teams may nominate people for it. The Board accepted the recommendation that more information and the award winner citations be posted on the MCSL Website.
· Jim informed the Reps of the increasing number of “no shows” at Coach’s Long Course and that the Board will consider remedies during the winter meetings.
· Jim noted that Six Flags tickets were available for pick-up.
· The Board recommend the following MCSL Executive Committee Officer and board member changes for the next term:
o Sally MacKenzie – President
o Dave Mengering – Vice President
o Jim Garner – Treasurer
o Robbye Fox – Secretary
o L.
Bejean – New Board member
The membership approved the new members and positions unanimously by a show of hands vote.
· Jim reminded Reps of the need for officials (deck officials and timers) for All-Stars and asked that names be e-mailed to competition@mcsl.org by the time of Divisionals.
· Bob Hincke – Automation – pointed out an error in the sections divisions for All-Stars, noting a correction will be posted on the website to read Section 1 = divisions a-G and Section 2 = divisions H-O.
· Linda Raab – MCSL Records – noted that there were nine new MCSL Records at Coach’s Long Course. She also passed out MCSL Record Certificates to appropriate teams.
Jim advised that there will be no Reps meeting in September. In the absence of further business, Jim concluded the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Frank Magnanelli
