MCSL REPRESENTATIVES MEETING MINUTES 9/9/04

The agenda for this meeting was to discuss suggested rule changes and to talk about this year’s season. There were 10 teams represented not including the MCSL Board. Therefore we are concluding from this attendance and the feedback from those that were there that the season went well all in all. There were very few protests and everyone adjusted to the changes necessitated by the pool depth very well. The MCSL Board appreciates everyone’s willingness to work through those changes without much notice. We know it presented some last minute logistical problems, especially for the host pools. Just remember it was in your pool’s and swimmers best interests to follow the guidelines as we did.

There were no rule changes submitted by the date of this meeting. If you have a suggested rule change or clarification please go ahead and email it in to rules@mcsl.org for consideration.

One of the teams in attendance inquired about the possibility of circle seeding their Divisional Championship Meet. We do not feel that format works well for MCSL meets as you normally have at least 3 heats which we do not have in any of our meets. We also do not swim prelims and finals which is what this format is utilized for.

Another representative stated that they were going to submit a clarification of language to one of our rules and will be submitting their suggestion via email. Please continue to let us know if you find anything in the new handbooks that does not seem to be correct or perhaps was left out in the translation from old to new. We will continue to work on making our handbook as accurate and useful as possible. Any corrections of suggestions can be sent to web@mcsl.org .
