MCSL REPRESENTATIVES MEETING MINUTES 6/10/04

Six-Flags: MCSL special day at Six-Flags is scheduled for Monday 7/12/04. Tickets are available from Tracey up to the day before the event. MCSL members $19.95 includes tax. Meal vouchers $7.95 and seem to be a good deal.

Montgomery-Square Olympic Clinic: Montgomery-Square Pool will be having another Olympic Swim Clinic July 11, 2004. For details see their website http://www.swimwithseahawks.com .

Iona Brown Nominees: Reps are reminded to get your nominations in to Bill Ferguson president@mcsl.org for anyone who has exhibited qualities of outstanding service and leadership to your team, division and the MCSL. Please have these in by the next meeting 7/8/04.

Olympic Time Trials: Be sure to watch the Olympic Time Trials July 7 – 14. There will be a lot of TV coverage. Check your local paper or the USA Swimming website for times and channels.

Officials Certification: Clinics have been well attended. The certifications for the Advanced Clinics were delayed getting on the web but should be up within a few days. Check to make sure your officials whose certifications have expired get to a clinic.

Moving Officials: If you know of a new family on your team who may have been at a different pool last year ask if the parent(s) were officials. If so please advise web@mcsl.org so that we can associate them with the correct pool and division on the certification list. Otherwise they may still appear on the list as officials of their previous pool.

Awards: We are out of finisher ribbons but still have extras of other places if needed. Contact Tracey Glass 301-869-7712 or email traceyglass@aol.com .

Automation: Make sure your computer person(s) load and or test your software before your first meet. Check the Hy-Tek website for updates to keep your software current.

Pool Transfers: All pool transfers have been permitted thus far. If anyone has not received a response to their request for transfer please email Bill Ferguson president@mcsl.org .

Water Depth: New guidelines by USA Swimming and other governing bodies suggest that minimum water depth for forward starts from the deck should be 4 feet. MCSL will adopt these guidelines as well but we are still working on how this applies to MCSL meets. We will be sending out an email in the next few days with our new guidelines and recommendations.
