MCSL REPRESENTATIVES MEETING MINUTES OF 4/1/04
Divisional assignments: All divisions established which team(s) were going to be responsible for the following items within their division and possibly more. 1) Relay Carnival – Host, Assist, Programs, etc. 2) Divisional Championship Meet – Host, Assist, Program, etc. 3) Automation Liaison. 4) All-Star Meet Official Recruiter. There may have been other responsibilities discussed and assigned but these were the minimum items that need to be established at this meeting. If your team was not represented at the meeting be sure to contact one of your fellow division Reps and find out who is doing what.
Pool info: Please make sure your pool info on the web is correct. If for some reason your information does not make it correctly into the handbook it is helpful to at least have it correct on the web for whoever may need it. Take and moment if you have not already, to make sure your info is current. If you have changes now or as the season draws near, please email them to web@mcsl.org .
Official’s certification: The official’s certification chart on the MCSL website is current. Please make sure you check the chart and notify your officials if they need to re-certify. As you look at the chart, anyone without a year in the column has either never been certified in that position or has let their certification expire. If the column indicates “re” (re-certify) then that person has been certified in that position before and needs to renew this year or have their certification expire. Do not count on your officials to figure this out on their own. Please give them a call or an email if you know they need to attend.
PVS Officials: If some of your officials presently have a valid PVS card for Starter and/or Stroke & Turn they can be considered valid for MCSL without attending an MCSL clinic. They must notify Peg Hincke via phone or preferably email to officials@mcsl.org . You will probably need to fax a copy of the card or bring a copy with you to a meeting or clinic for validation.
Awards and Handbooks: The handbooks and awards for the upcoming season will be distributed at the May 13 meeting. Be sure to have someone pick up your materials for you if you can not do so yourself. Remember, if you have not paid you dues you will not be permitted to pick up your materials. If for some reason your team has not paid yet be sure to mail the check now to Sally MacKenzie. There should also be meet management handbooks available at this meeting for the Reps.
B-meet ribbons: If you need B-meet ribbons and have not ordered them yet, please call Tracey Glass, 301-869-7712 or email awards@mcsl.org .
Six Flags: The Swim Spectacular is scheduled for 7/12/04. You can commit as late as 7/1 or you can pick up tickets from Tracey Glass even later if you contact her. All checks should be made out to Six Flags. No personal checks are accepted.
Automation: Ask your automation people to check the Hy-Tek website www.Hy-TekLtd.com for any updates for your current software. No changes should be necessary this year.
Colorado starting system: Contact Jim Garner a rules@mcsl.org if you are interested in a new Colorado Starting system. He will be placing the order late May providing he reaches the minimum order of 6 systems.
Automation and Officials clinics: All dates are set and are noted on the website. As noted above, check your Official’s certification dates and advise them if they need to re-certify or if you need them for a new position.
Next meeting: The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday May 13 at 8PM. Be sure you or another representative for your club attends to pick up your handbooks and awards. Please wait outside or by the elevators until the board is finished with their business for the evening.
