MONTGOMERY COUNTY SWIM LEAGUE
REPRESENTATIVES MEETING
Minutes of September 12, 2002
Call to Order: Marty Cohen called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm.
New Teams. Marty Cohen announced that the Board had accepted the requests from the Lakelands Swim Team and the King Farm Swim Team to become members of MCSL. A representative from each team described the team’s qualifications, facilities, organizational structure, parent involvement, and meet management experience. Both teams participated in MCSL’s mentoring program. The floor was open for comments. The Reps voted to accept the King Farm and Lakelands Swim Teams into MCSL.
Reps’ Meeting Schedule Change. Responding to many requests, Marty Cohen asked if any teams would object to moving the last Reps’ meeting of the season from September to October. Hearing no objections, he announced that the Board would draft a change to the bylaws.
Proposed Rule Changes: Marty Cohen reminded Reps that Bill Ferguson must receive proposed rule changes for 2003 by the end of October.
2003 Schedule: Marty Cohen summarized two options for the 2003 schedule of MCSL meets. After a brief discussion, a show of hands was requested. Since the show of hands did not produce a clear decision, the roll was called. Of the 89 MCSL teams (Lakelands and King Farm included), 58 teams cast votes. The results are shown below.
