Minutes:  The minutes of the February meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:  The budget was presented and approved.  Team bills were distributed in the automation packets.  Bills are due to Jim Garner.  Teams will not receive their materials in May if their bills are not paid.

Automation:  Copies of Meet Manager for Windows were distributed.  The package includes instruction book and software.  Teams are encouraged to test out the program now to become familiar with it and to ensure that it is compatible with their computer and printer.   Teams will need to upgrade to Team Manager II—contact Hy-Tek through their website (hy-tekltd.com) or by phone (252-633-5111).  The basic cost is $69 plus $7 shipping.  When ordering Team Manager, tell Hy-Tek you are an MCSL team and give them your team name.  To run these programs, you will need a computer with, at a minimum, a Pentium 300 MHZ processor and 64MB of memory.  Training sessions will be scheduled in late May or early June.

Handbook:  Pool information updates are due now.  Teams should check their listing on the web and send corrections or confirmation to Sally MacKenzie at secretary@mcsl.org.

Web:  If you have filled a coaching position that is advertised on our site, please let Bob Hincke know (web@mcsl.org) so that he can mark the position as filled.

Officials clinics:  Tentative dates for officials clinics were announced.  Most will be at the Olney Swim Center.  The advanced clinic will be at the end of May; the other clinics will be in June.  Once the dates are confirmed they will be posted on the web.

Awards:  Tracey Glass asked teams to pick up their awards left over from last season.  She distributed an order form for B-meet ribbons.  Personal best ribbons are available this year.  Ribbons must be ordered in quantities of 50.

Six Flags:  Tracey Glass distributed a flyer with information about the Six Flags America Swim Spectacular Day on Monday, July 15.

B-Meets:  Mike Kelley can provide limited help in matching teams that need B-meets.  Email him at mentor@mcsl.org.

N & O Divisions:  Mike Kelley distributed a schedule of meets to those divisions.

Rule Changes:  The rule clarifications were discussed.  There were some concerns voiced on the change to the freestyle relay.  The proposed rules were discussed and voted on.  The backstroke turn rule and the scoring change for the Open Medley were passed. The proposal to add additional teams to events 3 and 4 was defeated.  The approved rule changes are posted on the web.

Next Meeting:  The next meeting will be held at the Executive Office Building cafeteria on Thursday, April11, 2002, 8:00 pm.  This is the meeting where divisions determine which pools will hold Divisionals and Relays, among other duties.  Please come prepared with your pool depths and, if relevant, your dive meet schedule.

Respectfully submitted,

Sally MacKenzie

Secretary
