Representatives Meeting
Minutes of February 10, 2000




Call to Order: Carol Nickel called the meeting to order at 8:10 pm.

Treasurer's Report: Mary Parker reported that dues notices will go out next meeting. Each team is billed $325 annual dues, $1 for each 1999 All Star entry and $4 each 1999 All Star relay entry.

Secretary's Report: Bill Ferguson passed out team information sheets for each team. Please update and fax or E-mail the changes to Bill at 301 871-3684 FAX or E-mail at
Ferg2b@aol.com. Please include an E-mail address
for each team. In accordance with the change in the By-Laws passes at this meeting future notices will begin to be sent via E-mail


Awards: Becca Peck reported that B meet ribbons will now be .20 per ribbon for all places including red white and blue finisher ribbons. 6th place ribbons were ordered for each team in the MCSL as part of the award package
the league provides. Please bring B meet ribbon orders to the next meeting if possible. The earlier we receive B meet ribbon orders the more efficient our ordering will be. Orders can be E mailed as well to

Website: The MCSL has a new web address MCSL.org. The web page is accepting advertisements for teams that wish to advertise for coaches. There will be a $10 fee for this service. Bob also reported that he is preparing to add
driving instructions for each pool on the web site. Please E-mail driving instructions to your pool from the closest major highway to Bob at
Bhincke@erols.com

Handbook: Sally MacKenzie has mailed out the correspondence for past and prospective advertisers. A copy of the package was provided to any team rep that needed one.

New Teams & Alignment: Frank Negro discussed the recasting of divisions L M N & O as a result of Northgate's decision to disband. He is working on the schedule of meets and how to apply our meet grid to the new 4-team divisions.

Automation: Mike reported that he is working on a deal to buy the team manager program through the MCSL, which will give all teams the same version. Last season there were numerous version compatibility problems. Please do not purchase team manager for this season until after Mike reports at the next meeting. The 2000 season will remain on meet manager " DOS ". DO NOT UPGRADE TO THE WINDOWS VERSION THIS YEAR. Training classes for automation will begin in May.

Competition: Marty Cohen went over the rule change proposals that will be voted on at the March meeting. A proposal to change the By-Laws to allow E-mail as an acceptable means of communicating to the membership was passed. Jim Garner discussed the changes required for parking at the All Star and Long course meets. Parking information will be provided each rep prior to those meets. Information will also be on the web site.
The competition and rules committee will decide whether to follow the USA Swimming new protocol for whistle starts. A decision will be made prior to the March meeting.

Adjournment and next meeting: The meeting was adjourned at 9:05pm. The next meeting will be held at the Executive Office Building Cafeteria on Thursday March 9, 2000, 8:00pm.
