Representatives Meeting
Minutes of September 9, 1999
Call to Order: Frank Negro called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm.
Handouts: The following handouts were made available: 2000 Division Assignments, MCSL Meeting Schedule, Proposed 2000 MCSL Calendar, 2000 Montgomery County School Calendar
New Teams: Presentations were made and the representatives voted to admit the following 3 teams to the MCSL:
Germantown (GER)
Environs (ENV)
Manchester Farms (MCF)
The addition of these teams will result in the realignment of Divisions M – O. There will be 5 teams in each of these divisions. To compensate for the missing dual meet, the larger teams in the MCSL will volunteer their B teams.
As a result of the new division (O), there will no longer be a wild card for the Section 2 Relay Carnival (see rule 18 on page 47 of the MCSL Handbook).
New Board Members: Bob Palian, who has served on the board for 10 years, and Carl Kaiser, who has served for 6 years, will be leaving the board this year. Bob Hincke from Lake Marion and Mike Kelley from Stedwick were nominated and elected to replace Carl and Bob.
The following officers were elected to a two year term:

President’s Report: Frank Negro recognized the outgoing and incoming team representatives. He reminded reps to submit nominations for the Iona Brown award. Also, proposals for rule changes were invited and can be submitted to Marty Cohen through November 11th.
Web Page: Bob Hincke encouraged the reps to send him ideas for the web page.
Automation: Mike Lincoln would like an email contact for each team. The pool information sheets for 2000 will be changed to add this.
2000 Meet Schedule: The following schedule was voted on and approved for 2000:
June 17 – 1st dual meet
June 24 – 2nd dual meet June 25 – July 9: Relay Carnival Window
July 1 – 3rd dual meet
July 8 – 4th dual meet
July 11 – Coaches’ Long course
July 15 – 5th dual meet
July 22 – Divisional Championship
July 29 – All-Star Relays
July 30 – Individual All-Stars
Competition: Sally MacKenzie asked that any changes to the Green Book (Meet Manager’s Handbook) be sent to her.
New Reps: Send information on new team reps to mcsl@millkern.com as soon as possible so that they can receive notification of the February 2000 meeting. Include name, address and phone number. Also, indicate names which should be removed from the mailing list. Information regarding coaches is not needed until March 2000.
Changing Teams: The window for changing teams is March 15 – May 15, 2000.
Feedback on 1999 Season: The following subjects were discussed:
Adjournment and Next Meeting: The meeting was adjourned at 8:45pm. The next meeting will be February 10th, 2000 at 8:00pm in the Executive Office Building Cafeteria.
