Whetstone
Assistant Coach
The Whetstone Whales are looking for
an Assistant Coach for the 2010 swim season. The Whales have been around for
decades, and no matter what division we compete in (this year it is K Division),
we are known for our team spirit, strong parental support and involvement, and
great kids (180+ last year).
The position requires:
·
the ability to teach technical
stroke techniques
·
current lifeguard and CPR
certifications and a valid pool operator's license
·
genuine enthusiasm for the sport
and for the development of our swimmers
The ideal candidate for the Assistant
Coach position will
have swimming and coaching/teaching experience (paid or unpaid). However, lack
of coaching experience can be overcome by superior swimming knowledge,
organizational skills, demonstrated leadership skills, and enthusiasm.
We have afternoon practices from Memorial
Day through the last day of school. Once school is out, we have both morning and
afternoon practices. Our coaches are also expected to
participate in our pep rallies, ribbon celebrations, awards banquet, 4th
of July parade, and other team social events throughout the season.
