Assistant  Coach – The Kenmont Tsunami Swim Team is seeking an assistant coach who can provide effective instruction . The Kenmont Swim and Tennis Club is located next to the Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center in Kensington, MD.

Duties – The assistant  coach will assist the Head Coach with the overall instruction and preparation of the swim team for practices and meets. In addition, the coach:

·         Will attend all morning and evening practices throughout the MCSL season (roughly from Memorial Day through the end of July).

·         Will assist head coach in the seeding, organizing and managing of dual meets, relays and Divisional meet.

·         Will attend all dual meets (Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings), Relay Carnival, Divisional Championship, and any county-wide competitions in which Kenmont swimmers qualify including Coaches Long Course, All-Star Relays and All-Star individual meets.

·         Will teach age-appropriate swimming fundamentals, including stroke technique and turn skills, to all swim team members.

·         Will assist in the development of young swimmers in our pre-team program.

·         Will be available for social functions during the course of the season, such as a “Meet the Coach” evening and an end-of-season team banquet.

Requirements – The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a youth swim coach and as a competitive swimmer. He/she will also hold current lifeguard, CPR and pool operator certifications. Most importantly, the coach must be able to provide a safe, fun, learning environment for the Tsunami swimmers!
